What is Kybella? Kybella is an FDA-approved injectable treatment that destroys and permanently eliminates fat cells. It is an effective treatment for "stubborn" fat that may not respond to diet or exercise, especially "double chins". Kybella is made from synthetic deoxycholic acid, which is a naturally occurring molecule found in the body that breaks down fat. What Does Kybella Feel Like? Treatments with Kybella are quick and easy. Numbing cream is applied under your chin prior to injection to keep the treatment as comfortable as possible. An ice pack is also applied under the chin prior to placement of Kybella. You may feel a little tenderness and/or see some redness at the injection sites, but this will resolve on its own. What To Expect At your appointment, your Jenn Ash Aesthetics provider will discuss your unique desires with you and create a custom treatment plan and suggested number of Kybella treatments based on your fat removal goals. Your chin is then cleaned, numbing cream is applied to the chin, Kybella is precisely injected by your Provider, and Post-Care treatment is reviewed, and follow up appointment is made. The average cost per session is $1300, and the number of sessions you need depends on how many sessions are suggested for you based on your goals and custom treatment plan. How Long Do Results Last? When injected, Kybella immediately starts destroying the cells that store fat. The body's natural healing process begins, and the cells are absorbed by the body. Within 4-6 weeks, a noticeable reduction in fat should begin to become visible. If body weight is managed properly, results can last more than 2 years after treatment. Who is a Good Candidate? If you are 18 years or older and not happy with the fullness under your chin, you are likely a good candidate. You must have realistic expectations of treatment results.
